3D SCANNING AND DOCUMENTATION SERVICES HELP IMPROVE PRODUCTION PLANT

An industrial manufacturing DIS/CREADIS customer in North American, with numerous production plants across the country, was experiencing challenges due to the different layouts and equipment of each of their plants. Various equipment additions and structural changes were made without being included in the building documentation. When the time came to implement automation, updated documentation was necessary.

Challenges

Recreating accurate P&IDs and GA drawings required extensive knowledge and outside help since the existing documentation was outdated and incomplete. The company needed to partner with an engineering firm that had extensive experience in 3D scanning and documentation services.

Solution

DIS/CREADIS provided the customer with a solution that included 3D scanning and documentation services to create updated and accurate P&IDs and GA drawings for the 6 production plant sites. DIS/CREADIS’ capabilities within plant engineering: electrical, automation, and structural system integration combined with the front-end service of 3D scanning enabled them to offer a comprehensive solution to the customer.

Why DIS/CREADIS

The primary reason the customer chose DIS/CREADIS was their capabilities within plant engineering, electrical, automation, and structural system integration combined with the front-end service of 3D scanning. This allowed the customer to rely on and interact with a single supplier throughout the project. DIS/CREADIS’ expertise in 3D scanning and documentation services made them the ideal partner to tackle this complex project.

The result of DIS/CREADIS’ solution was a successful recreation of accurate P&IDs and GA drawings, providing the customer with updated documentation and an improved production plant. The success of this project has led to DIS/CREADIS preparing to provide the same services to numerous sites over the upcoming two years.
