CEMENTOWNIA MALOGOSZCZ

CEMENTOWNIA MALOGOSZCZ – BREAKING BOTTLENECKS

Cementownia Malogoszcz is a cement plant located in Poland and is part of Lafarge. The plant has been operational for 45 years and is known for producing high-quality cement and is constantly looking for ways to improve its processes and increase efficiency.

Challenges

One of the challenges faced by Cementownia Malogoszcz was to increase the performance of the alternative fuel feeding line for the rotary kiln cold end. The goal was to convey the material from ground level up 16 meters (just over 52 feet). However, the existing machines, an elevator, and a conveyor belt, were not able to achieve the required performance. This resulted in a bottleneck in the feeding line installation, which was affecting the production process.

Solution

To address the challenges, Cementownia Malogoszcz approached DIS/CREADIS for a solution. DIS/CREADIS performed a detailed analysis of the existing system and proposed a solution to remove the bottleneck from the feeding line installation. The proposed solution involved the removal of the existing machines, an elevator, and a belt conveyor. Instead, a robust z-chain conveyor was applied to the feeding system.

The z-chain conveyor was specifically designed to handle the alternative fuel and could achieve the required performance. The new solution eliminated the bottleneck in the feeding line installation and ensured the smooth flow of material from ground level up 16 meters.

Benefits

The new solution proposed by DIS/CREADIS delivered several benefits. The robust z-chain conveyor provided a reliable and efficient solution for conveying the alternative fuel, which resulted in a stable production process. The removal of the existing machines, an elevator, and a belt conveyor reduced the downtime of the feeding system, which further improved the efficiency of the production process. Finally, the new solution lowered the cost of the cement production process.

Why DIS/CREADIS

Cementownia Malogoszcz chose to work with DIS/CREADIS because of our proven expertise in designing and implementing engineering solutions. DIS/CREADIS has a team of highly qualified engineers and designers who have extensive experience in handling complex engineering projects in the bulk materials industry.

For this project, DIS/CREADIS spent time thoroughly understanding Cementownia Malogoszcz’s challenges before providing a tailored solution that met their specific needs. This eliminated the bottleneck from the feeding line installation and resulted in a more efficient and cost-effective production process.
