Exruptive, a developer of innovative technology solutions, has created a new X-ray technology system that allows for faster, cheaper, and easier security checks at airports. The system is designed to scan carry-on hand luggage in one go, replacing the need for traditional trays at security checks. The company expects the technology to be able to handle up to 600 passengers per hour, a significant increase from the current average of 150 passengers per hour. With approximately 3.5 billion airline passengers traveling worldwide each year, the cost savings potential is significant.
Developing a new X-ray technology system able to handle the high volume of passengers passing through airport security checks every day required the development of a custom conveyor belt and inlets to guide specially designed trolleys through the system. The scanner's functions also needed to be simulated to manage the trolleys, lift, rotate and push them toward the X-rays within a specified timeframe. Exruptive needed to find a company with the mechanical competencies and expertise to help with the development.
Exruptive brought in DIS/CREADIS to assist with the project. DIS/CREADIS contributed mechanical competencies from the development of the conveyor belt to the SolidWorks drawings of the final constructions. Several animations were created to simulate the scanner's functions. DIS/CREADIS also provided two consultants who worked with Exruptive on a daily basis to ensure the project's success. Working together, Exruptive and DIS/CREADIS created a custom-designed intelligent plastic trolley that would allow the system to scan carry-on hand luggage in one go, resulting in a faster and more efficient security check process.
DIS/CREADIS, has an excellent reputation for providing high-quality engineering consultancy services to companies across a wide range of industries. With a strong focus on innovation and technology, DIS/CREADIS has helped many companies like Exruptive to develop new and innovative solutions that solve complex problems. With its team of experienced consultants, DIS/CREADIS was able to provide the necessary mechanical competencies and expertise needed to help Exruptive develop its innovative X-ray technology system. DIS/CREADIS also provided valuable advice and guidance throughout the project, ensuring that the project was completed successfully and on time.
