The mindset it takes to accelerate time-to-market

At DIS/CREADIS we believe that a distinct cultural quality is necessary for companies to bring their solutions to the market more rapidly and effectively. There is a need for greater flexibility and reduced bureaucracy, in a time where speed is crucial for green transitions and securing a leading position in a competitive marketplace.

Establishing trust and mutual understanding

At DIS/CREADIS, we place strong emphasis on the importance of establishing fundamental trust and mutual understanding at the outset of a project. This also involves openly addressing any limitations or challenges within the collaboration.

Redefining engineering artistry

Traditionally, engineering projects have required extensive preliminary planning and prolonged tender processes. This linear approach, where clients propose a task and budget, and engineering firms respond with a price-compliant framework, is historically rooted but often fails to yield the desired outcomes. It appears rational on paper, yet it may not address project challenges effectively, and If problems arise, renegotiating costs and conditions creates unnecessary friction.

Design thinking in collaborative processes

What then is the alternative? While design thinking is often discussed in the context of innovation processes, its principles are equally applicable in collaborative processes. Here, the engineering firm focuses intently on the customer and their needs, treating them as problems to be creatively solved. This approach demands a shift in mindset, moving away from predefined solutions and remaining open to alternative problem-solving methods. It is an iterative process, continuously executed throughout the project’s duration, ensuring dynamic and customer-centric solutions

We believe in a work culture where questioning and expressing opinions across ranks is natural, as it fosters an environment conducive to innovation and design and where ideas can be openly discussed and evolved. In partnerships, this culture supports agile collaboration, encouraging adaptability and open discussion of potential challenges and their associated costs.

Agile collaboration in practice

Establishing Topsoe’s pioneering electrolysis factory in Herning exemplifies agile collaboration, where flexibility and swift adaptation is paving the way to meet ambitious goals. The factory, the first of its kind, is set to produce innovative Solid Oxide Electrolyzer Cells (SOEC) for future Power-to-X projects. The design and establishment of this pioneering factory is set to be achieved in under 2.5 years, a feat made possible by our engineers’ and Topsoe’s willingness to apply an unconventional method, as both the SOEC technology and the factory’s design is developed simultaneously. This approach requires parallel task execution, with quick iterative adjustments in the design process to avoid delays if changes are made in the R&D process. Our flexible methodology allows our team of engineers to adapt to changes, efficiently assess impacts, and provide rapid cost-benefit analysis and risk assessments for swift decision-making. This adaptability also enabled us to scale the project team dynamically, optimizing organizational needs and minimizing costs for Topsoe.
